Custom equipment for a defined pipe specification.

Plastic Pipe Extrusion Line

Configure a plastic pipe extrusion line around your resin grade, diameter and wall requirements. ARKPM coordinates the extruder, tooling, sizing, cooling, haul-off and cutting or coiling scope to suit the pipe family you intend to produce.

THE APPLICATION

Start with what
the line needs to do.

A plastic pipe making machine proposal needs to describe the whole route to accepted pipe, including what happens after the die. ARKPM uses your drawing, resin grade and production priorities to configure extrusion, sizing, cooling, pulling and finishing as connected duties. Priority sizes and changeover products are reviewed separately so tooling and downstream adjustment remain clear. This page concerns production equipment; pipe materials, end-use standards and product qualification must be specified for your project. Output and dimensional commitments are established against the agreed resin, geometry, utilities and acceptance method.

Applications to discuss

  • Defined non-pressure pipe products
  • Protective conduit projects
  • Other pipe applications subject to product requirements and validation
All configurations are reviewed against a defined material and product specification.
CONFIGURATION

The building blocks
of your line.

01

Extruder and tooling

Review the material grade, melt behavior and pipe dimensions together. The die and extruder proposal should state the intended product range and any tooling changes required between sizes or formulations.

02

Sizing and cooling

The calibration and cooling route must suit the pipe geometry and material. Review the available cooling-water conditions and tank arrangement before assuming a target line speed can be supported.

03

Haul-off and finishing

Coordinate pulling, cutting or coiling with the finished product. Contact arrangements, cut quality and handling should reflect the pipe condition at each stage and the way it is packed or transferred.

Define the heating arrangement

Pipe production brings the resin grade, tooling and downstream requirements into one process brief. Review barrel heating and temperature monitoring alongside that brief. The extrusion platform can be configured around the selected material, planned product range and access needed for service or changeovers.

Extrusion operator panel and machine controls
Operator panel and machine controls.

A control point for the line

An operator panel should reflect the equipment included in the pipe line. Discuss control access, displayed information, operating sequences and coordination with downstream stages. Panel layout and control scope can be customized around how operators prepare, run and change over the production line.

PROCESS THINKING

A considered route
through the process.

01

Define the pipe family

Provide drawings with diameter, wall and other critical dimensions, plus the resin grade and intended use. Identify which product is the main production case and which sizes are occasional changeovers.

02

Balance the complete line

Review extrusion output together with downstream limits and utility conditions. The agreed production case should describe stable, acceptable pipe after finishing, not just a throughput estimate at the extruder.

03

Measure and validate

Specify where and when dimensions are measured and which additional product tests apply. Trial samples, retained settings and acceptance records should refer to the same drawing revision and material condition.

PROJECT SPECIFICATION

The parameters we define together.

These are project inputs and configuration decisions. Performance is agreed against the material and product specification.

ParameterWhat to define
Pipe drawing and dimensionsSupply outer diameter, wall requirements, tolerances and the current drawing revision. Identify the main production size and the smaller-volume sizes that require changeovers.
Material specificationProvide the exact PE or PP grade and processing data. Other compounds or recycled-content plans need a separate review against the intended pipe application.
Output and production mixState target saleable output, operating schedule and size-change frequency. Extruder output must be evaluated together with cooling, pulling and finishing limits.
Sizing and coolingReview the calibration route, tank arrangement and available cooling-water conditions. Confirm site interfaces before fixing the downstream layout.
Cutting or coilingDefine finished lengths or coil format, acceptable cut condition and product removal. Match handling to the pipe condition after cooling and haul-off.
Acceptance and supply scopeName the applicable product requirements and inspection methods. List tooling, equipment, controls, site services and trial responsibilities as included, optional or by others.
This offer is custom pipe-production equipment. Pressure ratings, product certifications and suitability for a particular end use require a separately agreed material, testing and qualification basis.
CUSTOMIZATION

Made specific to your project.

Every ARKPM product family supports customization. These are the decisions that give the configuration its purpose.

Product and tooling range

All proposed equipment can be discussed around your product family. Separate essential launch sizes from future options so tooling, downstream adjustments and commercial scope remain clear and reviewable.

Measurement and controls

Discuss dimensional monitoring, recipe needs and interfaces to existing equipment. The measurement method and control response should be stated explicitly; an instrument by itself does not guarantee the finished product tolerance.

Factory arrangement

Adapt the proposed layout to available line length, handling direction and utility connections. Include finished-pipe removal and tooling-service access when reviewing whether the system fits your production area.

QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS LINE

Before you choose
a configuration.

Can the line produce pressure-rated pipe?

Only a project-specific review can establish equipment suitability. Pressure applications also require the correct material, product standard, testing and approval route; purchasing equipment does not certify the finished pipe.

Can recycled material be used?

State the intended grade, source and proportion in the brief. Suitability depends on material consistency and end-use requirements, and must be assessed rather than inferred from the extrusion process.

How broad can the size range be?

The practical range depends on tooling, output, cooling and downstream adjustment. Share your actual product mix so required change parts and any separate configurations can be identified.

Does the quotation cover an extruder or the complete pipe line?

The supply schedule defines that boundary. A complete-line discussion includes tooling, sizing, cooling, haul-off and cutting or coiling as well as the extruder. Equipment already installed at your site can be listed separately so interfaces and responsibilities remain clear.

What drives the cost of a custom pipe extrusion line?

The resin, diameter and wall range, priority output, tooling set, cooling arrangement and finishing method shape the quotation. Controls, inspection requirements and site interfaces also matter. Send the drawing, resin data and product mix for a configuration-based quote.
